Changelog
A running log of updates and improvements to MSF Base.
August 20, 2026
- Feature Added an "Effective In" filter to the Abilities page — narrow the Passive Speed Mechanics filter to War, Cosmic Crucible, or Raid, or pick Any to only show mechanics with no game mode restriction at all (e.g. Professor X)
- Feature Added Import Squads to the Tower Planner — with the MSF Base Companion browser extension installed, each week gets an Import Squads button that creates that week's floor picks as real Saved Squads on your Marvel Strike Force account, instead of picking characters floor-by-floor by hand. Requires the extension (updated to v1.1.1) — a button next to each week shows how to get it if it's not detected
August 4, 2026
- Feature Released the MSF Base Companion browser extension — adds ISO-8 attack/assist/counter info directly onto official Marvel Strike Force character pages, tracking whichever ability level you have selected there, in every language the official site supports. Available now on the Chrome Web Store (also works in Edge, Brave, and Opera); find it under Extras in the nav
July 29, 2026
- Data Updated the Danger Room card list for the new Season 10 deck, and removed the old Season 9 cards that are no longer active in-game
- Data Added Gilgamesh, Kingo, and Thena to the character database as well as the updated Sersi and Ikaris and their ISO8 attack info
July 28, 2026
- Feature Launched the Battle Simulator under Theorycrafting — script your offense, let the defense play its best available ability, and watch the opening turns play out: spawn effects (buffs, debuffs, immunities), abilities firing, assists, summons, turn-meter fills, and speed reorders. Fill just one side to inspect what a team spawns with on its own. It uses each character's max ability level and benchmark stats (not your own roster). The Turn Order Simulator is now retired in favor of it
- Feature Added the Spider-Man Tower to the Tower Planner — 4 weeks, 10 floors each, with Beginner/Normal/Hard/Omega difficulties
- Feature Added a "Hide used characters" toggle to the Tower Planner's floor picker, to filter out characters already assigned to another floor that week
- Fix Fixed the Tower Planner's Solutions link staying on the difficulty that was active when the tower first loaded instead of following the currently selected difficulty tab
- Fix The character search box now autofocuses when the character picker panel opens (Tower Planner, Battle Opener, and Turn Order Simulator)
July 24, 2026
- Feature Added a "First Seen" column to My Roster — since the MSF API doesn't expose true unlock dates, we track the earliest date each character showed up on your synced roster instead
July 23, 2026
- Feature Added shareable roster links — connected accounts can share a read-only link to their current roster from the Share button on My Roster. The linked page always reflects your latest synced roster and shows when it was last synced
July 22, 2026
- Fix Tower Planner floor numbers now count up across the whole tower instead of resetting to 1 each week (e.g. Week 2 starts at the floor after Week 1's last) — updated on the floor cards, the character picker, generated share images, shared plan links, and Community Solutions listings
July 7, 2026
- Feature Added the Tier List Maker — build a custom character tier list with your own tiers (name, color, reorder, delete), drag characters between tiers, a hidden section, and the available pool (or use the ⋮ menu on any card), then export an image, get a shareable link, or publish it to Community Tier Lists for connected accounts to browse and upvote
- Feature Added an MSF Discord tab to the News page — official game news and promo codes pulled from the MSF Discord server, updated every 15 minutes
- Fix Fixed character portraits being cropped inside their circular/rounded frames (Tower Planner picker and floor slots, Community Solutions cards, and the Theorycrafting and Turn Order Simulator pages) — portraits now stay anchored to the top so heads aren't cut off

Feature
Added Community Solutions — connected accounts can submit a tower share as a public solution, credited with your in-game name. Browse them per tower at e.g.
/planners/towers/blade-mighty/solutions/(linked from a new "Solutions" button next to Share), filter by difficulty, and upvote or withdraw your own submissions -
Feature
Added a "Browse All Solutions" landing page at
/planners/towers/solutions/linking out to every tower's dedicated Community Solutions page, with a submission count per tower - Feature The homepage now shows an account-aware message — connect your MSF account to unlock My Roster, Tower Planner submissions, and upvoting, or (once connected) a quick link to your roster and connection settings
- Feature Added a Connect Account / My Account link under the Extras menu, reflecting whether your MSF account is currently linked
July 5, 2026
- Feature You can now connect your Marvel Strike Force account — pulls in your real character roster so planners can use your actual power instead of the max-level benchmark. Roster syncs automatically once a day, or on demand from the connect page
- Feature Added a "Your Power" sort to the Tower Planner for connected accounts, showing your real power for each character in the picker, in filled floor slots, and carried over into generated share images and shareable links
- Feature Added My Roster — a personalized stats table showing your own characters' level, gear, power, and combat stats, pulled from your connected account
- Fix Fixed the homepage Planners card on iPhone Safari — flipping it to reveal Tower Planner / Danger Room links was leaving the front face's text visible on top
July 3, 2026
- Feature Added shareable links for tower plans — use the Share button on any tower to create a link capturing your current picks, team power, and notes for a specific week or the full tower. Anyone with the link can view the plan or load it directly into their own planner
- Feature Added a Notes panel to the Tower Planner — click the Notes button to show a Team Power and notes field under each floor. Values save automatically and are included in both shared links and generated images
-
Feature
Tower difficulty is now part of the URL (e.g.
/planners/towers/blade-mighty/?diff=hard) — links to a specific tower now open on the correct difficulty, and browser back/forward navigate between tower and difficulty selections - Fix Fixed a mislabeled condition on the Abilities page and Turn Order Simulator — several characters' Speed Bar/status protections (e.g. Satana) showed "until Prof X takes a turn" instead of the correct "until this character completes a turn"
July 2, 2026
- Feature Added the Blade (Mighty) Tower to the Tower Planner — 4 weeks, 6 floors, 3 difficulties, restricted to characters carrying the Tower Challenger trait
-
Feature
Each tower and difficulty now has a shareable link (e.g.
/planners/towers/blade-mighty/) — selecting a tower updates the URL, and browser back/forward navigate between towers - Feature Added a "View verified solutions on MSFWAR" link to every tower floor, pointing to the matching floor on MSFWAR for verified counters
- Fix Character search and trait filters across the site (Characters, Stats Table, Ability Search) now also account for hidden and event traits (e.g. X-Men grouping, Tower Challenger), so filtering and search results are more complete
- Fix Improved Turn Order Simulator accuracy in War: on-spawn buff-steal effects (e.g. Ares) now correctly capture every enemy buff rather than only specific named ones, and now correctly resolve after everyone else's spawn effects — so they see buffs/Charged granted by other characters regardless of team order
- Fix Improved Turn Order Simulator accuracy: characters with a passive that fills their Speed Bar the first time they lose a buff or status at spawn (e.g. Black Knight losing Charged) now trigger correctly as soon as the first turn of the match happens
- Fix Improved Turn Order Simulator accuracy: passives that deny a specific enemy a status before spawn resolves (e.g. Old Man Logan blocking Charged for the highest-Damage Chargeable enemy) are now simulated, so knock-on effects like Black Knight's first-turn Speed Bar fill trigger correctly when he's denied Charged
June 30, 2026
- Feature Added ability energy costs (start / cost) to Special and Ultimate panels on character profiles and the Ability Search page — values are per-level, so characters whose energy changes as the ability is levelled up (e.g. Beast, Iron Man, Rescue) show the correct value at each level
- Feature Ability energy costs (at max level) are also shown in the Theorycrafting team builder (all three views) and on Turn Order Simulator roster cards after simulating
- Fix Removed a broken speed mechanic filter option ("Speed Bar fill can't be increased") — the underlying game flag is set on Thanos but his ability text only describes the unblockable fill behaviour, which is already covered by a separate filter
- Fix Improved Turn Order Simulator accuracy: on-spawn reactions now chain correctly — for example, Invisible Woman gaining Stealth at spawn triggers Wolfsbane's Speed Up for all New Mutant allies, which then triggers Kang's fill only once
- Fix Improved Turn Order Simulator accuracy: health-gated spawn abilities now activate correctly (at spawn all characters are at full health, so health ≥ 50% conditions are always met) — Zombie Scarlet Witch's speed stat block and fill block now correctly suppress speed bonuses and speed bar fills for all enemies, and Zombie Iron Man's Speed Up for Undying allies now fires as expected
June 29, 2026
- Feature Expanded the speed mechanic filter on the Abilities page — now covers Speed Up, Slow, active Speed Bar fills and drains, proc prevention/removal/theft, and more (18 filter options, up from 8), powered by the same data source as the Turn Order Simulator
June 28, 2026
- Feature Added Danger Room Cards — browse all danger room buff cards with filters for rarity, category, character dependencies, and availability
- Feature Launched the MSF Base Discord server — join to provide feedback and get site updates
- Fix Improved Turn Order Simulator accuracy: on-spawn reactions are now chained correctly — for example, Invisible Woman gaining Stealth at spawn now triggers Wolfsbane's Speed Up for all New Mutant allies
June 26, 2026
- Fix Fixed Turn Order Simulator accuracy: spawn fill amounts that scale with the number of qualifying allies now count correctly; speed stat changes tied to turn-state conditions now activate at the right moment in the simulation rather than at spawn; and turn order beyond the first turn now accounts for mid-battle speed changes — producing accurate predictions across different enemy scenarios (speed bar blocked, speed stat blocked, or neither)
June 25, 2026
- Fix Improved the Turn Order Simulator accuracy for abilities that depend on how many allies share a trait — a character no longer counts themselves when an ability calls for a number of other allies, so those effects now turn on and off correctly
- Fix Tidied up the capability breakdown so each ability's active / conditional / inactive status and condition wording match what actually happens in the simulated matchup
June 24, 2026
- Feature Updated the ISO-8 / Counter / Assist breakdowns to be more accurate and easier to read
- Feature Added Date Added sorting to all applicable views — characters grid, ability search, tower planner, and turn order simulator
- Data Added release dates to all characters, courtesy of this community-maintained spreadsheet
- Fix CSS updates for some minor inconsistencies and layout issues
June 23, 2026
- Feature Added Turn Order Simulator (/theorycrafting/turn-order/) — set offense and defense teams, pick a game mode, and simulate spawn-phase turn order based on speeds, passives, and on-spawn speed bar effects. Shows per-character capability breakdown with conditional greying for mode-gated and team-comp-gated abilities
- Feature Theorycrafting team builder (/theorycrafting/) now has three view modes: Cards, Split, and Raw — with fully editable passive text in each view
- Feature Added changelog (/changelog/) to track site updates
June 18, 2026
- Feature Added news page (/news/) — browse all official MSF articles, searchable by title, description, character mentions, and tags
- Feature Added stats table (/characters/stats/) — sort and filter all characters by any stat
- Feature Stats now show base values separately from passive bonuses — e.g. Black Widow's 135 base speed vs. 155 with passive
- Feature Speed stat now shown on character portrait cards in the grid view (/characters/)
- Feature Added links to the MSF website for the full stats table and individual character pages
- Feature Character release dates added for 88 characters, derived from news articles
- Data Character and stat data now syncs automatically every night
- Data News sync automatically multiple times per day, with new articles added to the news page
June 16, 2026
- Feature Site launched — character grid, ability search, speed mechanics, theorycrafting, and tower planner
